Back From the Urologist

Having the catheter inserted was a breeze. Not having this done before, I was really frighten. Can't say whether I got good news or bad. The doctor told me I had a red cell count of 12, whatever that means, and that is not high for some people, but since I have never had blood in my urine before, he wants to rule out all possibilities.

Next week or the week after I will be scheduled for an ultrasound and will be doing a home test where I will collect urine for three consecutive days prior to the ultrasound. Contingent upon the results of these tests I may need another internal exam where the doctor will take a look around with a light. Should I have to do this test, he said we would do it at the hospital and I'll be put to sleep. That way if there are any abnormalities, he will remove them at that time.

As a treat for undergoing such torture I dropped by The Farm Table, a quaint restaurant that specializes in home cooking, to pick up dinner. I got chicken livers, fried potatoes, kale, hot rolls and graham cracker pie. Yummy! I have never mastered the preparation of fried chicken livers, but having The Farm Table nearby, who cares. They make the best. I only got 1 meal and split it with hubby and there are still leftovers. I did of course get two pieces of pie.

I'm now off to visit some blogs.

Chicken livers you say? I LOVE chicken livers! The trick to fixing them is to not over cook...Wonder where I can find some fresh ones.
~~~Easy for me to say, but try to do some deep breathing exercises and keep calm. Read some inspirational books or magazines to keep you focused (the Psalms are good, too!). I'll keep you in my prayers. You'll do just fine...
~~~Blessings~~~

Linda. That next test that you are having I am sure that I have had. I am so glad that they will be putting you to sleep because when I HAD it...they did not put you to sleep. I was in misery...I heard later that now and I mean NOW they put you to sleep. I am so glad for you!! All will be fine. You will keep us posted. Betty's visitation is tonight and funeral tomorrow. I am making food now for the family. Thanks for stopping by. I always appreciate your words of kindness. Sandy

Hi Linda (another Over 50-er here). I understand completely what you are going through but, please, don't worry about the tests themselves. These urologists really have seen it all before...and I've yet to meet an unkind one.

I will also be praying for you.
