We have been experiencing heavy snow sprawls all day. It will snow for a few minutes then the sun will come out and melt the snow. As you can tell from these pictures we are not getting a lot of accumulation.

Yesterday I spent the afternoon with Josey. Brian was conducting a photo session with her when I arrived. She didn't want to cooperate....she just wanted to sleep. Brian isn't a professional photographer; however, he is very very good and uses professional equipment and his pictures are professional quality. I took these pictures and I will post some of his once he uploads them to his website.

And, here's Maw Maw holding Josey. Have I told you lately just how adorable she is?

Tomorrow evening I have my Esther bible study. I missed last Monday because of Josey birth. I'm enjoying this study because Beth Moore has a way of bringing the pages to life. Tomorrow we will be hearing the part of the banquet Esther gives for her King and Haman and how Haman will be killed.

At the back of our workbook is a recipe for Hamantashen (Haman's Ears) Cookie which I am sharing with you.

2 sticks of margarine (softened)
2 cups of sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
4 tsp. baking powder
4 cups wheat flour OR 2 cups white all-purpose flour and 2 cups wheat (All white works well too)

FILLING: Apricot preserves. You can use and fruit butters, jam, or pie fillings. Traditional fillings are poppy seed and prune.

1. Cut butter into sugar. Blend thoroughly. Add eggs and blend thoroughly. Add flour, 1/2 up at a time, blending thoroughly between each.
2. Put the batter in the refrigerator overnight or at least a few hours.
3. Roll it out to about 14 inch thickness and then cut circles with a cookie cutter or use a drinking glass. (From Beth: Make them at least 3 inches in diameter so you have room to fill and fold them over!)
4. Put a tablespoon of filling in the middle of each circle. Fold up the sides to make a triangle, overlapping the sides as much as possible so only a little filling show through the middle.
5. Bake at 375 degrees for about 10-15 minutes, until golden brown.

The recipe does not mention when to add the vanilla or baking powder. I would assume to add the vanilla with the eggs and the baking powder with the flour. I haven't made these cookies but one of the ladies at study group made them and said they were very good. Hope you enjoy!!

Hi Linda, I'm just now viewing your last two posts. Don't know how I missed them. The baby is so, so precious. A preview of what is in store for me in a few weeks. Looks like we got a lot more snow than you did....view my photos that I posted today. So glad everything went OK with the delivery. I can see they are proud parents. Congratulations to them.....and you.

Blessings

Hi Linda,

Now that's
the kind of snow I like. Here today and gone tomorrow! Or even sooner! LOL.

Josey is beautiful! And so is her proud Maw Maw!

Hamas ears sound delicious. I'll have to try them sometimes. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Enjoy the study of Esther, tomorrow.

Hugs!

Renie

Hi Linda, I found your blog when I googled Beth Moore and Hamantashen...my church is beginning this study tonight and I made the cookies today. They're great! I did add the vanilla and baking powder when you said. Also, 1 TBSP filling leaks out (ask me how I know) and so I switched to 1 tsp. Anyway, just wanted to say that I wish you blessings from this study!
