Today the world's eyes are on Washington as a new President will be sworn in as leader of the United States. Regardless of any one's political views, today we stand together and celebrate this historical event.
While watching the festivities on TV I began thinking of an inaugural ball I attended in the late 80's. It certainly wasn't for the president of the United States, but it was for the Governor of West Virginia. I asked, now hubby, if he would like to accompany me to the ball. There were about 10 -12 of us who attended together. Prior to the ball we met at an upscale restaurant for dinner. In order for all to arrived at the ball together, we hired a limo to take us to the civic center where the ball was held.
Please, no hate mail.....yes, that if real fur and it was still acceptable to wear fur in the 80's. I still have that coat but never wear it. I must say that is the warmest coat I have ever owned.

Yes, Linda, if dashing means good. You were a very good looking couple and I'm sure you still are. How exciting it must have been.
Speaking of today's inauguration, my grandaughter was in that crowd somewhere. She went with a group from Hurricane High school.
Dashing indeed!
A remarkable day in USA, and possibly, world history
Quite a spiffy couple!
We went to one of the Prez Inaugural Balls 8 years ago. Fun memories!
I like your dress too! You looked pretty.
I did not vote for President Obama, but he is our new leader, and I support him now. Out with the old, in with the new, and God bless him and our wonderful country.
You looked beautiful going to to the Inagural Ball!
I am looking forward to seeing the dress Michelle Obama will wear tonight.
Have a great evening.

Yes, we must all be united and pray for our new president and the leaders of our country.
A ball of any kind would still be an exciting event and I'm sure you all had a wonderful time...you looked very happy !!!
You do look dashing in that fur coat! I still see ladies wear them. Last Sunday a lady had one on at church.
I watched the Inauguration on streaming video. That was a first for me.
Two good looking people! I like your style and writing form. Yes, I agree, out with the old and in with the new; get ready for the big change.
