A local Flea Market was totally destroyed by fire yesterday. The flea market which had about 300 vendors is located about 5 miles from my house. Thank goodness it was closed and no one was hurt. These pictures were taken this evening.

The Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms was on the scene as well as the West Virginia State Fire Marshall. Parts of the debris was still smoldering this evening.

Heavy equipment had already been used to remove debris from the middle of the piles. Several vendors were there taking pictures for insurance purposes, but the news reported most of the vendors were not insured. Notice the scorched trees circling the flea market.

From my vantage point this was the only recognizable object I saw, yet I don't know what it is. To me it looks like some type of a heater.

It has not been determined if the fire was caused from faulty electrical wiring or arson.

Uh Oh! That doesn't look good! I hope they find the person who did it if it was arson. That must have been quite a fire!

Have a wonderful weekend!

What a mess!! I just hate fire. It just destroys everything in its path as it has done here in these pictures. At least no one was there so no one was hurt. that is indeed a blessing..Sandy

That does look like a heater in that one picture, so maybe the fire was destroyed by the heater itself especially if it tilted over. Just a thought. Whatever, it was an awful thing to happen.

Linda,
This is so sad. As you said, it's a good thing that no one was there at the time.
