Reunion - Part 2

On Friday night the immediate family gathered at a local steak house for dinner. There were about 25 - 30 of us .

I had to include this next picture. The lady in the yellow shirt is hubby's ex-wife. The gentleman beside her is her husband and hubby's first cousin. Talk about keeping it in the family. {giggles}

Seth is wondering when are we going to eat?

The reunion was held on Saturday at the
Racine Volunteer Fire Department.

As people arrived they were asked to sign in and grab a name tag.

Others were taking pictures and sharing their shots. The lady in the pale green top was a friend of my Daddy's. She and her husband would go with Mom and Daddy to his farm. Boy, it's a small world.

Are we allowed to have favorites? Delvia and Les are hubby's aunt and uncle who live in Florida. Every year they spend their summer's in West Virginia at the home where Delvia grew up. Les is 88 and is showing his age this year. He still put in a full garden and mows several acres of land every week. I'm really worried about him. Delvia is still very spry for her age.

This is Delvia's two sisters, Ada and Myrtle.
Myrtle is in her 90's and has been in a nursing home for about 4 years. Ada lives in Louisville and has just moved in with her daughter.

Some of the kids discovered a dolly and Kevin gave them a ride.

Then the kids lined up for a full body swing from Kevin and Brian.

Donna serves as master of ceremony every year by
welcoming everyone to the reunion.

Anna Lee serves as treasurer and gives her annual report, while there are questions from the floor "Hey, Anna Lee, is that a new outfit"?

Prizes are given to the oldest. I don't know this lady who won this year. She is in her late 90's.

This little girl won for the youngest.

And, this girl wins every year for the one who traveled the farthest. She lives in Kissimmee, FL.

After the awards are given everyone is invited to eat.
As you can see this family is not shy.

I was trying to be good and not overfill my plate. I must say the broccoli salad and Mexican cornbread were awesome. There was also an big selection of desserts.

After lunch folks visited for awhile and then began leaving. What is sad, is we know someone will probably not be there next year.

On Sunday several of the immediate family gathered at the summer home of Delvia and Les. I looked at those pictures and all I have are from a walk I took with Donna and her family. That is it until next year.

Next weekend my daughter and her family are coming for a short visit. I will hand her my camera and ask that she take a few pictures of me.

Thanks for reading.

Wow, Linda, I am amazed because Donna the emcee looks a lot like my Mother! In fact, when I saw her in the top photo, I thought "I don't remember having a photo of Mom like that!" And..."I don't know any of those other people!"

It looks like you all had a great time. I love this.
