Heads or Tails

Today's theme is Tails and the question is "Who would you like to meet and why?

My dear friends in blogville, I would love to meet you; however I am going to write about another woman I would love to meet and know I never will.

I have been a big fan of Goldie Hawn since I first saw her on Laugh In. I thought, what a quirky girl. The first movie I saw where she stared was "Foul Play". I can still laugh when I think of some of those scenes.

A couple years ago I read her memoir "A Lotus Grows in the Mud" and developed an even deeper appreciation for this superb woman and actress. Her book provided a candid
and inspirational look back at the people, places, and events that have touched her through her spiritual journey in search of enlightenment. She writes intimately about the challenges of love, anger and fear, and the importance of compassion and integrity. She speaks openly about her family, her partner Kurt Russell, her children, her faith, her curiosity for that which she doesn't yet know, and her thirst for knowledge. Most of all, it is a trip back through a life well lived by a woman well loved.

Her life long dream was to become a ballerina. It was purely by accident that she physically ran into someone as she was racing to a go go act where she was late. This chance meeting changed her life and opened the doors for her acting career.

I believe she is a genuine, caring, thoughtful, inspirational woman, mother, sole mate, and friend that I would love to meet.

I will have to get that book! It seems like she's been a part of my life through her acting career and it would be nice to get to know the other side of her life.

Hi, Linda! I saw your comment about my Elvis book over at Susan's blog, then your mention of Goldie's book. Well, there's only one Goldie, right? I just listened to the audio book of A Lotus Grows in the Mud and I really enjoyed it too.

Think positive, you never know, maybe you'll run into Goldie one day.

Blessings,

Leanna
